A notary arrangs the details of
the title deed. To update them in the local land register -
informing of the identity of the new owner. The Notary function is to oversee all legal proceedings. You
will always see a Notary when, exchanging contracts for the
purchase of your property, to register wills or give power of
attorney to your solicitor to allow him to purchase a property
on your behalf.
Some important points to keep in mind are:
You will need several passport sized photographs
Some Notarys insist that men wear trousers not shorts
You will need a NIE number (Numero de Identificacion de Extranjeros)
